We keep an interest list vs. a traditional paid waitlist, this allows us to notify interested families when puppies are expected based on confirmed pregnancies. There is no fee for the interest list. Join by filling out the basic questionnaire form. We have found that families don’t want to be waiting months or longer for their new puppy, or families are not always ready when puppies are born. Keeping an interest list allows us to give families updates on current and future litters.

 

Once puppies are confirmed we will notify interested families who have expressed interest in the breed/litter based on their questionnaire answers. Pricing varies per breed. We will notify interested families when deposits open for the litter. Current methods for deposit are Venmo, Paypal and Cashapp.

 

For the first 3-4 weeks we focus on the puppy curriculum. This includes early neurological stimulation, early scent introduction, daily weights, and care for mom and puppies. All puppies are DNA tested and traits such as furnishings and curl are shared with families prior to puppy picks.  

 

In Weeks 4-6 we begin working on the 10-step handling exercises to expose puppies to touch and build tolerance, we begin crate exposure, socialization, and potty training. We frequently update Instagram and Facebook with photos and videos. We can start recognizing personality/ temperament traits at this point and begin taking notes, and documenting what we see.

 

Around weeks 6-7 puppies will be temperament tested using an assessment from Badass Breeder Curriculum. This helps families pick puppies based on personality traits/temperament and to match puppies in homes that honor who they are as a puppy. Puppy picks will begin by order of deposit after testing is completed. Families will receive a link to the videos and a scorecard for each puppy. At 7-8 weeks puppies are seen by the vet for their wellness check and vaccines are administered.

Puppies go home at 8 weeks. We can arrange with families their preferred pickup method. Families are welcome to come pick up your puppy from our home, or we are local to 2 airports (Pittsburgh International Airport and Latrobe Regional Airport) we can arrange to meet families at the airport. Puppies can also travel to their new families via a travel nanny. We have several references for families. The final payment balance is due in cash at the time of pickup.
